Max Verstappen went into the British Grand Prix weekend openly unimpressed with how the 2026 cars race at Silverstone. "I don't want to be too negative, but let's say it's different from last year," he said. "The way we currently generate power does not fit the characteristics of the Silverstone circuit, due to the long straights and the fast corners. You barely touch the brake, so you can't charge your battery enough. In many places during the lap you lose speed, because it is not made for this engine formula. Some corners will be completely different than last year and that makes it less exciting."
